That is exactly what happened at United Camp just a few weeks ago.  While at United we saw over 25 people accept Christ for the first time, over 35 people get baptized and dozens of people make life changing decisions and commitments.  Energy.  Passion.  Excitement.  United.  These are all things that characterize our student ministry now.

United Camp was just the beginning! Join the movement with us at The WAVE in the next few weeks, as we continue to explore this this challenge to stand united, in hope that we might be the difference and change our world!

We all are addicted; to the desire to be recognized, to the need to be accepted, to satisfy the hunger for the next high, to lust, to cheat, to pain.  In one way or another we are all addicted.  Addition traps the addict in a world of pain, trauma, and destruction.  So what do we do?  How do we break free?  Starting this week at the Wave, we explore ways to deal with the addictions of our lives and the satisfaction and freedom that God has to offer us if we turn to Him.  So do not miss it!

]]> http://cbgstudents.com/?feed=rss2&p=326 0 Uprising http://cbgstudents.com/?p=313 http://cbgstudents.com/?p=313#comments Wed, 10 Mar 2010 16:15:09 +0000 mooney240 http://cbgstudents.com/?p=313 Does your spring break need something exciting to amp it up?  Well The Wave Student Ministry has that very something you are looking for.  Uprising retreat is going to be March 25-27 in Leesburg, FL and it will be an amazing experience available for all high school students.  Uprising is a weekend getaway, a chance to separate from the world, and surround yourself with the truth of who God is, and the calling to step out and lead a life that reflects Him.  In order to go you will need to have a signed and notarized medical release form, along with an attached parent release form by March 24. Wednesday night, March 24 will have a mandatory parent meeting right after the Wave in the Fellowship Hall where questions can be answered, forms can be turned in, and information can be clarified. The total cost of the retreat will be $99, (which includes transportation, lodging, retreat materials, and on-site meals), plus enough money for lunch on the trip up and back.  Also, we will be having a parent meeting on Wednesday March 24th at 8pm, immediately following The Wave.  If you have any questions feel free to email us at cday@cbglades.com or tc@cbglades.com

WOW ITS GETTIN’ COLD!!! Which means Christmas is right around the corner, which also means presents are going to be under the tree soon. In our society where everything is “relative” and nothing seems to be out of bounds, it’s difficult to tell right from wrong. Taboo is a four week reminder that there are life limitations, that boundary does not equal boring, and that what we look at, what we say, what we listen to, and choices that we make not only affect us, but also those around us.
